- Senior
Project Manager [Resume]
How much IT
experience do you have? How many years as a PM?
I have 26 years experience of IT experience.
Since October 2000, I have been operating with a
PMP certification. In 2008 I earned the IBM
Project Management professional certification.
Contracting for Bank of America I continue to
work in IT in a Banking role.
Do you have experience with large, complex
projects requiring interpersonal and
communications skills?.
In the past 10 years, I have been in full
control of the Quality initiatives for the IBM
Supply Chain Division introducing "Total Order
Management" to the world community. All new applications
were in my domain to verify before production.
The list of applications grew from 3
applications in 2000 to 13 applications. Supply
Chain fully integrated with ERP systems SAP, I2,
MAPICS and other internal IBM applications. I
ran a daily project meetings with participants
from China, Hungary, Singapore, Scotland,
England, USA, Mexico, etc. to ensure that the
project maintained integrity. I also managed 10
FTEs from India, Mexico, and Brazil. I have
experience working with outside vendors and
suppliers as well.
In the
Banking industry I managed the Test Quality for
13 integrated applications supporting the
Deposits Industry called the
Mass Affluent project.
Tell me about your reporting skills.
I have 20 years of reporting to management,
first in my Test Lead position for IBM Research
and Development, then for IBM Supply Chain. I
create my own charts and graphs and have used
corporate style sheets as necessary.
Tell me about your leadership experience.
I have dotted-line managed 130 people who were
top-notch SME's (Subject Matter Experts) and
direct reports from India, Mexico and Brazil. I
owned and managed the Supply Chain Global
Services Requirements team for 2 years. I also
owned and managed the Defect and Issues team for
the past 10 years. I created management tools to
ensure the teams and meetings would run
efficiently and have effective reporting. I
also managed 10 FTE's who were part of the
function verification team.
Tell me about your track record and ability
to complete tasks on time and on budget.
In the past 10 years, I have completed 21
projects on time and on budget. Since 2006 I
have been measured by EVM tools and methods to
ensure that my task progress was within the 90%+
tolerance range. Any tasks outside that range
turned my project red - and that was just not
acceptable. My budget was always turned in
at the beginning of the project, was measured in
billable hours, and verified against
hour-claiming systems.
Describe how your projects adhered to project
standards.
Every one of the 21 projects had
standards that must be met.
1. Quality Checkpoints DURING
project execution (at Concept, Plan, Execute
phases)
2. CMMI reviews where we were
rated CMMI 5 (highest level of certification)
3. ASCA reviews where we had
all inputs and outputs of the integrated systems
measured for adequate security checking (hacker
proof).
4. ISO 9000, ISO 14000 -
depending on the project.
5. MRR - Manufacturing Readiness
Review - to ensure that each project was
accepted by the User team with measures of
Accuracy, Completeness, and Ease of Use.
Do you have experience with MS Project, if
so, how much?
I have 10 years experience in MS Project. I
currently own a copy of MS Project 98.
