Part 1: Establishing the Trinity: Father - Son- Holy Spirit
Genesis 1:3, 1:6, 1:9, 1:11 " GOD Said"
Stress that what God says IS. He continues to speak today.
Genesis 1:26, "Let US make man in OUR own image."
Who is the US? Establish that God is, but was not alone at creation.
Genesis 3:22 "Man like one of US"
More talk of US. Discussion items; Good and Evil, Is the "one of US" Jesus who came as Man and not Spirit?
1 John 5:7 "Witness in Heaven: Father - Word - Holy Spirit"
Establish the Triniity. Discuss that ALL witness of the Father. We will also establish soon that
(1) The Father gets the Glory, (2) Jesus has already come & gone (3) The Spirit is left with us.
1 John 5:20 "Jesus witnessed of His Father"
It was His Mission.
John 5:31-40 "Everything else witness to Jesus."
Verse:(32) Spirit (33) John the Baptist (36) Scripture (37) God's word in Scripture . Jesus must have had a great message.
John 16:1-3, 12-15 "The Spirit is left to witness Jesus."
If we want the Holy Spirit to work in our presence, our mission ought to line up to Witness ie. do the work of the Kingdom.
The Holy Spirit will witness IF we listen. The Holy Spirit will be our guide. The Holy Spirit has been left behind for us.
