Some common definitions of Righteousness - good, just, moral, sound, upright, virtuous, clean-handed, guiltless, innocent, worthy Genesis 2:7 'Breathing Life' Ask the question: is the lifeless form ALIVE or DEAD? At what point did the form receive life? Romans 6:11 `Decide not to sin' A choice needs to be made to not sin. Further, you need to make a choice to choose Christ. In doing so, access to Holy Spirit is available. Romans 8:10 `Choosing to accept Christ, is to choose righteousness' So, when you died to sin - you died. This NEW life is breathed into you. The Holy Spirit breathes in a new life, of righteousness. Galatians 2:20 "Choose the faith walk" Our purity is to be measured by the heart, not by outward appearance. Therefore, which is worse, a tattoo OR a bad heart? Psalm 139:23 "Righteousness will be tested, FAITH will be tested" Examples: Tests of Faith Exodus 16:4 "Testing of Manna" 1 Kings 10:1-3 "Testing of Solomon" (The Test ) Solomon's Wisdom was tested, and found greater. Proverbs 15:23 "A word in Season" ( The Word says, about Solomon's test... ) The Bible says we are to be prepared in and out of season. Daniel 6:1-28 "Testing at the Idol of the king" ( The Test ) Exodus 20:1-6 "No Idols" (The Word says about the idol test... no idols ) 1 Corintheans 3:13 "Tested by Fire" Paul wants us to know, that like Daniel, the tests are NOT ALWAYS EASY. Some are hard, and the harder the test, the more YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS is being tested. To come through the test, is to have God on your side as a partner and a friend. Zechariah 13:9 "Testing is a weeding out process" James 1:12 "Endure the test, and you will be blessed" The Holy Spirit is here to help with all of our tests, call on the Lord - even during the tests - with Thanksgiving, full of joy, be the conquerer vs. the conquered, prevail BECAUSE you are in Him, the Lord Jesus Christ. Offer prayer to those who need help in weakness. |
