Race entry.

Qualifications
Entrants in SOS for the first time must have completed a half ironman
distance triathlon in a total of 7 hours or less in the past 18
months, (or a full ironman distance triathlon in a total of 15 hours or less in the past 18 months):
Run - 13 miles within 2:10
Bike - 56 miles within 4:00
Swim - 1.2
miles within :50
Because this is a summer wilderness endurance event, it is essential
entrants meet these qualification. Entrants must submit a printout of the results
from a recent half ironman distance or ironman distance triathlon.
Competitors who have not completed the bike portion in 2 hours
15 minutes or have not completed the second swim in 5 hours 30 minutes
will not be allowed to complete the event.
Safety
Safety is our central concern. Please help us to insure a safe event
for you and the other participants. ANSI and/or Snell approved herlmets
are required during the bicycle leg. Swim caps are required during the
swims. Participants must carry shoes during all swims. This is a summer
endurance event and triathlete support is minimal. Do not try and overstep
limitations. One crew member is required at the bike-run
transition.
Race Date/Start Time
7:00 am Sunday, September 7, 2008 Ulster County Fairgrounds, 2.5
miles south of the village of New Paltz, NY on County Road #7.
Mandatory orientation meeting will be held the evening
before the race at 5 pm. Information about the location of this
meeting will be included in the race packet which will be mailed to you
prior to the race.
Entry Fee / Information
Entry fee is $275.00 payable to New York Triathlete Association. Entry
deadline is August 1. After this time, a late entry fee of $300.00 will be
accepted until August 20. Please understand that
because of the complexity in organizing a triathlon of this nature, no
entries can be accepted after this date. The field will be limited
to the first 150 entrants.
Note that because of the small size
of this event and the large demand for participation, refunds, transfers, and
rollover of entry fees cannot be made for non-participation regardless of the
reason.

and Liability Waiver
- Include
documentation of your qualifications--proof that you have completed a
1/2 Ironman distance triathlon in under 7 hours in the past 18 months
or full Ironman distance time of under 15 hours in the past 18 months (prior SOS survivors need only include qualifying SOS year and time).

entry fee. Your entry will
not be processed until payment is received.
