Waterford's tugboat tradition continues this year September 6th through 8th as the Town of Waterford, NY, hosts the 4th Annual Waterford Tugboat Roundup. For more information contact the Waterford Harbor Visitor Center at (518) 233-9123.

As always, a full compliment of events is in store for the entire weekend. Festivities commence on Friday, September 6th, with a tugboat parade from Albany to Waterford. The tugs are scheduled to depart Albany at 3 P.M. on Friday, and arrive in Waterford at around 6 P.M. While waiting for the tugs, those in attendance will be serenaded by canal balladeer George Ward.What follows will be a night of reverie and two days of maritime heritage celebration. From the marine flea market along the battery, to Saturday's chicken barbecue, to distinguished speakers

  • Friday, September 6th, with a tugboat parade from Albany to Waterford. The tugs are scheduled to depart Albany at 3 P.M. on Friday, and arrive in Waterford at around 6 P.M.
  • Tours will be available on the tugs from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. on Saturday and 10 A.M. to 3 P.M. on Sunday.

8th Sea,
Ben Elliot,
Mame Faye,
Tender 3,
Buffalo,
K. Whittelsey,
W.O. Decker.
Also, two covered railroad barges,
the Penn #399 and the Lehigh Valley #79.
