Roger Mabie is past president of the Steamship Historical Society of
America and has written and lectured extensively about steamboats. His
slide presentation, “Hudson River Day Line” is just one of Roger’s well-received
documentaries. Roger worked on the Day Line as a "cadet" during the summers
of his college years in the late 1930s, and will share his memories of
those years as well as his renowned expertise on Hudson River steamboats.
The Hudson River Day Line is the subject of this year's museum exhibit.
The exhibit shows the development of the Hudson River Day Line through
historic photographs and artifacts from the museum's extensive archive
and on loan form other important steamboat collections. Many of these
photographs have never been displayed in public before.
