It's Just Halloween

God's Perspective on Halloween

Halloween is the annual celebration of the dead, of the satanic forces, making what God deems as "bad" seem "good."
American's celebrate by giving candy to those who "buy in" to the idea, selling their soul - if you will - for a chocolate.
Other common celebration(s) that are a celebration of the "dark forces" are Marti-Gras ( last day before Lent ), May day  ( fertility day).

Leviticus 3:6  `If his offering as a sacrifice of a peace offering to the Lord is of the flock, whether male or female, he shall offer it without blemish.
    A perfect sacrifice to the Lord is a sacrifice that is perfect, unblemished.  Without cuts, not fouled by the world.  As a Christian, purified by Grace and without sin. You are a perfect sacrifice if you seek forgiveness and seek God through Christ who died for our sins.

Leviticus 19:28  `You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord. '
    This is much different from the current "fad" to get a tattoo.  Is this good or bad?  Does cutting the flesh make you blemished?

1 Samuel 16:7  But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.''
    Our purity is to be measured by the heart, not by outward appearance.  Therefore, which is worse, a tattoo OR a bad heart?

Leviticus 21:
 1.  And the Lord said to Moses, "Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them: `None shall defile himself for the dead among his people,
 2.  `except for his relatives who are nearest to him: his mother, his father, his son, his daughter, and his brother;
 3.  `also his virgin sister who is near to him, who has had no husband, for her he may defile himself.
 4.  `Otherwise he shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.

Numbers 19:11  `He who touches the dead body of anyone shall be unclean seven days.
    In the law, touching the dead is defiling, meaning, it makes you unclean before God.   If you are unclean, you cannot do service to God until you have done the appropriate cleansing, and waited the prescribed amount of time.  So, to touch the dead, is to separate yourself from God.

Deuteronomy 18:
 9.  "When you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations.
 10.  "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer,
 11.  "or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.
 12.  "For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you.
 13.  "You shall be blameless before the Lord your God.
    God adds clarity, do not have dealings with the dead - or- those who deal with the dead.

Deuteronomy 22:5  "A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman's garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.
    God also has it that we not deceive one another by putting on garments that are not meant for us.  In other words, dress up is not allowed.

Isaiah 14:
 12.  "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations!
 13.  For you have said in your heart: `I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north;
 14.  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.'
    Satan is our singular enemy, seeking to turn us from God, seeking whom he may destroy.  Satan is the abomination, do not copy any of his acts and make them your own.

Matthew 4:
 8.  Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
 9.  And he said to Him, "All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.''
 10.  Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, `You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.' ''
 11.  Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.
    Your blessing, depends on you.  (See verse 11)  Don't count give up your salvation, don't anger God, for the sake of a chocolate or by wearing "devilish" clothing.  Do not deceive your brother or sister.  God is good, you be good.

Give each person time to reflect on his / her sins - if any - and allow a moment to pray thankfully to God for His word, direction, and blessing.

Offer prayer to those who suffer from Temptation, forgetting God.
