Temptation

The root of sin: Tempting God

2 Thessalonians 3:1-5 "Can you be tempted?"
Can you bear temptation?  Temptation Leads to sin... if we get to the root of Temptation, we will live stonger in Christ and be a warrior in His name.

Revelation 1:3-6 "Kings and Priests"
This verse points out that we are Kings and Priests.  What is the responsiblity (especially ) of a Priest?  Should he/she reflect the very word of God?  He who has an ear, let him hear.

Hebrews 4:15 "Jesus is the High Priest"
This verse reminds us of who is in charge, Jesus.  Further, it points out that He has endured ALL that we are called to endure.

Luke 11:1-4 "The Lord's Prayer"
What  does this say about temptation?  Point out that God is good and will not lead, but will allow you to be lead by the devil.   (See the next verse below.

Luke 4:1-2,3 "Jesus totally tempted"
Before Jesus was temped 3 times by the devil, the last 3 times, he had already been in the desert 40 days.... tempted.  Even after 40 days the devil kept trying.

Exodus 17:1-7 "Is the Lord not among us"
Tempting GOD is the first sin, denying God's existance.  This is the cheif sin among those who do NOT believe in Christ, in God.  They are in a constant state of Temptation.

Deuteronomy 6:13-19  (or 13-25) "You shall Fear the Lord"
God does NOT want to be forgotten, POWER DWELLS from NOT denying God.  (20-25) These words are used at Hannukah ceremony.

Psalm 78:39-42 "God will not be powerless in YOUR life"
The psalm recounts what we have read above.  Do NOT limit God.

Luke 4:1-2 "Jesus totally tempted"
Before Jesus was temped 3 times by the devil, the last 3 times, he had already been in the desert 40 days.... tempted.

Malachi 2:7-10 "We are priests"
The lips of the priest should keep knowledge... we are charged to carry the message of Christ, and the existance of God.

Malachi 3:14-18 "There is evil in the world today"
Malachi points out that many "believe" they are going free, unpunished.  God is watchful.  Be a true priest, not a false one.  Carry the message.

1 Corintheans 10:13-14 "There is an escape"
God loves us so much, that for every temptation - every time that we may forget Him - he has provided an escape.  God shows us His mercy and love every day by the opportunity of forgiveness.  God loves you.

Offer prayer to those who suffer from Temptation, forgetting God.
