Setup for the Personal Challenge with the Holy Spirit
1 Samuel 11:1-7 "When the Spirit shows up - there is power"
Discuss with the group and identify: (1) The covenant of man (2) the brokenness of man, (3) when God showed up
(4) the power of the Holy Spirit to bring all into one accord. (5) the power of the Holy Spirit to act on God's behalf.
In this, God's acts because of brokenness.
2 Chronicles 14:1-15 "When the Spirit shows up - there is rest"
Discuss with the group and identify: (1) Asa was in accord with the Holy Spirit (2) Count the number of "good guys" vs.
"bad guys" (3) Study Asa's prayer in verse 11 - count how many times the word "rest" is used in the previous verses
2 Chronicles 19:5-10 "When the Spirit shows up- there is judgement"
We are called to defend the Word of God and turn others to God. Have no human motive. ( Look ahead at James 5:16-20 )

The Holy Spirit of God is ready to reveal to us, are you ready? Do you know the Lord?
John 15:15 "I call you Friends"
We are to know the Word and be a friend to Christ. Then when the Spirit shows up, we can act in fear of the Lord. We will
not greive the Spirit, but instead show approval. We know that the Spirit is effective when God approves.
James 5:16-20 "Prayer is effective to save a soul"
Prayer is the outpouring of faith. Like Asa, if you are living with the Holy Spirit ( and not against ) your prayer will be effective,
but the effectiveness requires your humble, clean, forgiven heart. Ask often for forgiveness. What you ask, will be granted if
what you ask for glorifies God. You are called, by the Holy Spirit to judge, according to the Word, and you will be rewarded.
If you pray for another, and he turns from his ways, you have lead him from death to life, from the snare of the devil to the grace
of God. You have helped cast out his demon.
James 2:19 "Demons tremble"
Never forget that God is the winner. You are on the winning side.
Mark 1:23-24 "Demons trembling"
Do not get caught in the snare of the devil. Be humble, clean, forgiven and God can use you in a mighty way to free those who
are oppressed and bound. Be prepared to pray at all times. Be prepared for God to win at all times. Be prepared.
