The Waterfront Museum and Showboat Barge is traveling to Kingston for the First Annual Waterfront Festival at the Hudson River Maritime Museum, August 13th – 20th. The Lehigh Valley Railroad Barge #79, built in 1914, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, will dock along the Kingston waterfront at the Maritime Museum.

The highlights of the visit will be four Showboat Circus performances (Artistic Director Karen Gersch) which take place aboard Barge #79 and a Sunset Concert featuring Buddy Mondlock and Chris Thompson.

The Showboat Circus has entertained tens of thousands visitors with professional performers from around the globe who dazzle, delight, and mystify. Sell out crowds flock to the waterfront in NYC to see David Sharps, barge captain, president of the museum and juggler, join acrobats, unicyclists, contortionists and stilt walkers perform daring acts dexterity, comedy, and awe-inspiring skill. "Our biggest mission is to bring people down to the waterfront" Sharps said of his non-profit goal. In one year, more than 17,000 visitors came aboard his barge.

Showboat Circus performance times are 12:30 and 3:00 pm, Sunday, August 14th and Saturday, August 20th. Each show will feature different acts and artists providing a unique experience for all ages.

At the Sunset Concert, singer/songwriter Buddy Mondlock will present original works in an authentic showboat style spirit. Buddy has written songs performed by Peter Paul & Mary, Garth Brooks, Joan Baez, and is well known for his collaboration and recent tour with Art Garfunkel. Joining Buddy will be Chris Thompson who many may recognize from the Clearwater Hudson Revival Festival.

The Sunset Concert is on Saturday, August 13th, 6:00 to 9:00 pm.

The shows are complemented by an art exhibition "From Sequins to Sawdust" by Gersch hung in the Museum Gift Shop. Original drawings and oil paintings feature performers from the Showboat Circus.
